Of the three hordes, the Horde of the Bastion has the most fortified bases, which typically consist of multiple layers of walls containing a few [[MCL:Gate|Gates]] surrounding the [[MCL:Nether Portal|Nether Portal]], with [[MCL:Piglin Pit|Piglin Pits]], [[MCL:Blaze Rod Tower|Blaze Rod Towers]], [[MCL:Nether Spreader|Nether Spreaders]], and other defenses spread around the base and between the walls.
|

At higher tiers, the Horde's bases include more types of buildings, including [[MCL:Patcher|Patchers]], [[MCL:Siegeworks|Siegeworks]], and [[MCL:Spike Tower|Spike Towers]], alongside lava moats that require building a [[MCL:Ramp|Ramp]] to cross. One of their bases will also incorporate [[MCL:Lava Coil|Lava Coils]].

During the [[MCL:Return of the Piglins|''Return of the Piglins'']], a novel set during the modern ''Minecraft'' era, the character [[MCL:Great Kritten|Kritten]] mentions a clan of piglins who enjoy constructing structures intended to collapse in on themselves. Presumably, they are the descendants of the Horde of the Bastion. The horde of the bastion is the most creative horde and as a result is among the favorite of the great hog.
