{{Quote|THE WORLD OF DUNGEONS - You've been armed with knowledge of the world's beasts and the arsenal of weapons at your disposal to smite them, but it would be wise to familiarize yourself with the many wonderful and varied lands that await you beyond Squid Coast. The mainland Dungeons is a small continent where the main story takes place. It has a diverse landscape with many biomes, some of which are not in the base game. Each individual biome has its own mission, which can have exclusive mobs that spawn only in that mission. The hero shelters in a camp near the coastline while progressing through the world. Two daily trials also appear in the mainland map along with the other levels. The heroes must travel across this vast land to stop the illagers and destroy the Orb of Dominance.

Background
After a failed raid, one small illager found himself abandoned by his tribe. Shunned by villager and undead, he aimlessly roamed the through deep forests and up craggy mountains before stumbling upon the Orb of Dominance, one of the Overworld's most powerful artifacts. With it, he became the Arch-Illager, uniting Illager tribes and undead across the mainland, conquering or destroying all in their path.
A village under attack
The heroes start their journey at Squid Coast, where they fight to defend a village whose inhabitants have been captured by the Illagers. Although they failed to free the villagers, they're still within reach.
A journey begins
The heroes progress north to the Creeper Woods, a dark forest where a caravan of the captive villagers are located. They free the villagers as well as the Village Merchant from being used as a labor force.
The forsaken undercroft
Beneath the forest floor lies a crypt, housing illagers defending a lost tome. The heroes discover this crypt through a scroll hidden in the woods, and take the tome with them as they continue on their journey.
The last homely hearth
Within the Pumpkin Pastures, the heroes fight valiantly to warn and protect the last-standing village from the Illager raids. After fighting through armies of Illager and monster, the heroes successfully ring a warning bell, and defeat one last wave of the Arch-Illager's minions.
A hidden stash
After finding a scroll in the Pumpkin Pastures, the heroes come upon a hidden outpost by ship used by the Arch-Illager and his minions. After arriving, the heroes fight their way to to a beach, and steal three spell books throughout. After exploring a cave, they make their way to a ship and sail away.
A perilous potion
The heroes then head to the Soggy Swamp to stop the Arch-Illager from gaining the power of their wicked brews. They brave the onslaught of witches and slimes, saving the Gift Wrapper along the way. Before escaping, the heroes are confronted by the Corrupted Cauldron summoned personally by Archie, yet ultimately defeat it.
The lost ruins
Having fought through the swamp, the heroes use a scroll found in a Secret Cave to locate the , reaping its riches before the Arch-Illager can.
The end of the line
Within the Redstone Mines of the Mooncore Caverns lie troves of redstone, a power unrivaled in the Overworld. The heroes arrive to stop the Arch-Illager and his minions from using it in their devious plans, but they are far too late. In their path, the heroes free captured villagers, including the Blacksmith, and slay one of the terrible constructs of the Illagers.
Machines of war
Having uncovered the truth, the heroes travel deeper into the mountains to the forge of the Illagers through a secret entrance. Within these halls is the birthplace of Vindicator axes, redstone golems, and Enchanter spellbooks. The heroes overload the forge's cores as they make their way to its heart, where they confront and conquer the Redstone Monstrosity.
Lost in a sea of sand
Seeking to reach the Desert Temple before the Arch-Illager can get his tiny, evil hands on the undead-raising staff, the heroes journey through the perilous desert. Along their path, they free the Luxury Merchant, and make their way to the temple's entrance.
The nameless kingdom
The heroes enter the sprawling temple, seeking to destroy the enchanted staff wielded by the undead king. After making their way through the dungeon's traps and treasures, they come across the staff within the clutches of a necromancer's corpse. Upon approaching it, the corpse awoke, revealing itself as the ruler of the undead, the Nameless One. After defeating it and its vanguard, the heroes smashed the dark staff.
Tombs unknown
Using a scroll within the vast tombs of the desert temple, the heroes journey into the Lower Temple. After sweeping its deepest halls for any remaining Illagers, the heroes fled the structure.
Crashing the party!
While the Arch-Illager and his minions cluelessly hosted a party to celebrate their victories, the heroes crashed in, preparing to crush them while they're gathered in one place. They crawl through the halls of Highblock Keep, seeking the Arch-Illager's grand throne. Along their path, they smash buffet tables and Illager chefs, and free the Enchantsmith. At last, they reached the throne room, but were instead ambushed by an army as the Arch-Illager fled up to the peaks of the castle.
Under lock and key
The heroes made one last detour to the depths of Highblock Keep, seeking to eliminate any horrors the Arch-Illager left hidden within its depths. Within it, they found a long-forgotten prison, and cleared it of its haunting, before making their way back to the surface.
The eye of the storm
The Arch-Illager cornered itself atop the Obsidian Pinnacle, leaving the heroes raging through its walkways. After fighting through an onslaught of Illagers of all kinds, varieties of undead, and towering redstone golems, they made their way to the peak of the pinnacle. With nowhere left to flee, the Arch-Illager made one last attempt to stop the heroes. He whisked Illagers to the peak to defend him in a panic, but he ultimately lay defeated.
It was then that the powerful artifact he wielded, the Orb of Dominance, changed forms. Taking Archie's body with it, it revealed its true form, and began assaulting the heroes. Even mustering all of its stength, however, it was no match for the heroes. The heroes bested the Ender beast, and it quickly ran to the last edge of the Obsidian Pinnacle. There, the Arch-Illager wrestled it for control, but it shattered. The Arch-Illager had been defeated, but merciful as they were, the heroes spared him, leaving him as friend rather than foe.
Moo
After defeating the Arch-Illager, the heroes uncovered an ancient hall, requiring the activation of secret runes across the island. After activating these runes, the heroes find one last scroll, uncovering the mushroom island. There, they fight through armies of unusually aggressive mooshrooms, eventually reaching the island's heart. There, they stumbled upon a mushroom-infested redstone monstrosity, the source of the cow's aggression. After it was felled, they quickly rafted off the island.
Island realms
Long after the fall of the Illager Empire, the Orb was left shattered on the floor. Alone, its pieces crept back together, before being flung across a small archipelago made up of three islands; a small jungle, a tundra, and a tall mountain. A fourth shard landed inside a nearby oceanic trench. Thus, the heroes set out from the mainland to free the island realms from the quickly-spreading corruption released by the shards of the Heart of Ender.
A forgotten portal
After two endermen uncovered one large chunk of the Orb of Dominance, buried under rubble, they transported it back to the newly-active Stronghold. After successfully dropping it into the End Portal, six Endersent rose through it, taking one Eye of Ender each, and setting off into the mainland's depths. The heroes once again journeyed across the mainland in search of eyes of ender to rip from the endersent, before arriving at the reawakened stronghold. After defeating armies of illagers and undead, they returned the six missing eyes to the portal, as the end drew near.
