In the inventory, the name of it is just "Banner" and the inventory icon is the same as the normal banner item. When it is held, it will show the oak planks texture due to that being it's partical texture. When it is placed down, it had a rotation of 0 and even if you have a different color of banner it will change to black when placed due to that being the default value. The wall banner will use the wall banner model in the inventory and will just say tile.wall_banner.name due to not having a name. It will also default to a black banner when placed with rotation 0.
