A stained glass pane is a dyed version of glass pane. It is a transparent block that can be used as a more efficient alternative to stained glass blocks.
Obtaining
Breaking
Stained glass panes can be obtained using a tool enchanted with Silk Touch. If one is broken without a Silk Touch enchantment, it drops nothing.
Stained glass panes do not have an assigned tool; they are mined at the same speed regardless of what tool is used.

* Brown stained glass panes generate in abandoned villages.
* White stained glass panes generate in plains village temples.

Usage
Stained glass panes are more efficient to use than stained glass blocks, as six stained glass blocks can be crafted into sixteen stained glass panes, yielding 22 panes per block. Windows built using stained glass panes can be up to 267% (22 times) larger in area than windows built with regular stained glass blocks. In Java Edition, stained glass panes appear as flat items inside the inventory, with the front face taking up the entire inventory slot. With the default texture pack, the light gray variant in particular is barely visible in the inventory due to its low contrast to the background of the slot. This can make containers appear empty when they are not.

Placement
If placed without anything on the sides, they appear as a thin vertical • shape, 2×2 pixels in size; but when other blocks occupy adjacent spaces, it becomes flat or turns into a or or shape depending on the items surrounding it. The collision box is identical to the shape of the pane. Therefore, two glass panes placed with one empty space in between forms a gap that is two blocks wide.
Stained glass panes are never oriented horizontally. Horizontal stained glass surfaces must be made from stained glass blocks.
Stained glass panes can be waterlogged, which means water can be in the same place as a glass pane, unlike regular stained glass.
Crafting ingredient
Any Stained Glass Pane
Unlike regular glass panes, stained glass panes cannot be used to lock maps.

* java, due to its flat appearance in the inventory slot and the inventory being colored light gray, light gray stained glass panes almost appear invisible.
* The textures of stained glass and stained glass panes still use the old colors from prior to the 1.12 World of Color update. A wooden trapdoor is a variant of the trapdoor that can be opened and closed by the player without redstone.
Obtaining
Breaking
Wooden trapdoors can be mined with any tool, but an axe is the fastest. Trapdoors remain in place if their attachment block is moved, removed, or destroyed.

Natural generation
* trapdoors generate in plains villages, igloos with basements, and shipwrecks.
* trapdoors generate in taiga villages and shipwrecks.
* trapdoors generate in desert villages (around composters) and shipwrecks.
* trapdoors generate in shipwrecks.

Usage
Trapdoor#Usage
Barrier
A wooden trapdoor can be opened or closed by pressing the control.
Redstone component
Wooden trapdoors can be controlled with redstone power. When activated, the wooden trapdoor immediately opens. When deactivated, it immediately closes.
An activated wooden trapdoor can still be closed by a player, and does not re-open until it receives a new activation signal (if a trapdoor has been closed "by hand", it still needs to be deactivated and then reactivated to open by redstone).
Wooden trapdoors can be opened and closed by players or a redstone signal. Wooden trapdoors are also affected by the wind burst of thrown wind charges, causing them to open if closed, or vice versa.
Fuel
Overworld wooden trapdoors can be used as a fuel in furnaces, smelting 1.5 items per block.
Note blocks
Wooden trapdoors can be placed under note blocks to produce "bass" sounds.

A hardened stained glass pane is the dyed variant of hardened glass pane obtained by crafting with stained glass panes and several compounds.
Obtaining
Breaking
Unlike a normal stained glass pane, a hardened stained glass pane drops as an item to be picked up again when broken with any tool or by hand. It also takes significantly longer to break.

Concrete powder is a gravity-affected block that is converted to concrete when touching water. It comes in the sixteen dye colors.
Obtaining
Breaking
Concrete powder can be mined with any tool or by hand, but using a shovel is the quickest method.

Crafting
The crafting recipe is shapeless; the order of ingredients does not matter.

Renewability
Concrete powder is renewable as all of its crafting ingredients are themselves renewable. However, without glitches, sand is only renewably obtained through the wandering trader, which spawns infrequently and only allows a limited number of trades per spawn. Therefore concrete powder is more easily obtained by simply harvesting sand from any biome it generates in.
Usage
Concrete powder falls when there is a non-solid block beneath it.
Creating concrete
Concrete
If a concrete powder block comes into contact with water, it solidifies into a block of concrete. Specifically, the block has to be placed into, placed next to, or fall into flowing water, a water source block, or a waterlogged block. If placed next to a waterlogged block, it must be adjacent to the sides where water can flow out from, such as the open sides of stairs, but not the back side of stairs or any sides of waterlogged leaves. It does not solidify in midair falling past water. If it lands next to water, it solidifies only after a block update. Rain or splash water bottles also have no effect on concrete powder. Concrete powder in item form also does not become concrete. Concrete powder placed directly at water makes the placement sound of concrete.
Note blocks
Concrete powder can be placed under note blocks to produce "snare drum" sound.

Melon seeds are items obtained from melon slices that can be used to grow melon stems.
Melon stems are plants grown on farmland that, over time, grow melons on dirt, mud and moss blocks adjacent to them.
Obtaining
Breaking
When broken, a melon stem drops 03 melon seeds. The chance for melon seeds to drop increases with the stem's age.

Usage
Farming
Tutorials/Pumpkin and melon farming
Melon seeds can be planted only on farmland, as stems. Melons need a light level of 9 or above to grow (in Bedrock Edition it needs an internal light level of 9). Over time, a stem grows through 8 stages and, at its final growth stage, produces melons on any adjacent dirt, coarse dirt, rooted dirt, grass block, farmland, podzol, mycelium, moss block, pale moss block, mud or muddy mangrove roots. If a melon is already occupying a spot adjacent to a stem it does not grow more melons until the melons is removed. A single stem can grow an unlimited number of melons. Melon seeds are affected by bone meal only with respect to stem growth; bone meal does not help produce the actual melons.
Breeding
Like other seeds, melon seeds can be used to breed chickens, lead chickens around, and make baby chickens grow up faster by 10% of the remaining time.
Taming
Like other seeds, melon seeds can be used to tame parrots.
Composting
Placing melon seeds into a composter has a 30% chance of raising the compost level by 1.
Melon stem
A melon stem is the block that is planted on farmland when melon seeds are used on it. It starts underground, and rises up as the plant grows. The stem is colored green when young, and then yellow once fully grown.
The stem curves once a melon has grown from it. A fully-grown single stem connects to any melon in an adjacent square, thus there are 5 possible appearances to a stem. If there are multiple melons it can connect to, it favors the east, then west, north, and south. When the melon is removed, the stem returns to its straight shape.

A wooden button is a variant of the button that produces a temporary redstone signal when pressed. Wooden buttons come in every variation of wood, and all of them are non-solid blocks. They are activated either by a player interacting with the button or when hit by an arrow or trident. They remain pressed for longer than a stone button.
Obtaining
Breaking
A wooden button is most easily broken with an axe. It drops itself as an item when broken using any tool.

A button is removed and drops as an item if:
* its attachment block is moved, removed, or destroyed.
* water or lava flows into its space.java
* a piston tries to push it or moves a block into its space.
Natural generation
Jungle buttons generate naturally on house walls in desert villages. Oak buttons generate naturally in trial chambers making up the various dispensers.
Crafting
Buttons can be crafted from planks for a matching wood-type button.

Usage
Redstone circuit
Placement
Buttons can be placed by using them on a surface.
They can be attached to the side, bottom and top of any full opaque block.
If placed on the top or bottom of a block, the button can face any direction.java
It can also be attached to the top of a fence be.
More information about placement on transparent blocks can be found at Opacity/Placement.
Redstone power
A button can be used as a monostable redstone power source (it automatically deactivates shortly after being activated).
Activation
Buttons are usually in an inactive state, but can be temporarily activated by players using it. A wooden button can also be activated by a fired arrow or a thrown trident if its collision box touched the button.
Mobs cannot activate buttons directly, but arrows fired by skeletons or dispensers can activate wooden buttons.
Behavior
When activated, a wooden button remains active for 1.5 seconds.
A wooden button activated by a fired arrow or a thrown trident remains active until the arrow or trident despawns (after 1 minute) or is picked up by a player.
While active, a button:
* powers any adjacent redstone dust to power level 15, including beneath the button
* powers any adjacent redstone comparators or redstone repeaters facing away from the button to power level 15
* strongly powers its attachment block to power level 15
* activates any adjacent mechanism components, including above or below, such as pistons, redstone lamps, etc.
When a button changes state it provides a redstone update to all redstone components adjacent to itself (including above and below), and to all redstone components adjacent to its attachment block.
Fuel
Overworld wooden buttons can be used as a fuel source in furnaces, smelting 0.5 items per button. Nether wood buttons (crimson and warped), cannot be used as fuel in a furnace.

Wool is a block obtained from sheep that can be dyed in any of the sixteen different colors. It can be used as a crafting material and to block vibrations.
Obtaining
Breaking
Wool can be broken using any tool, but shears are the fastest tool to use.

Natural generation
; Woodland Mansion
All wool colors (except magenta, pink, and purple) generate naturally as part of structures within woodland mansions.
; Village
White and yellow wool generate in shepherd houses, fletcher houses, and meeting points in plains villages.
10 light gray wool generate under the door and on the floor of Snowy_small_house_8 in snowy tundra villages.
; Pillager outpost
White wool generates as tents outside pillager outposts.
; Ancient city
Gray wool appears on some walls and on the floors of long corridors at the corners of an ancient city. The wool damps vibrations, preventing activation of nearby sculk blocks. Ancient cities can also generate blue, cyan, and light blue wool.
Mob loot
shears on an adult sheep yields 1-3 wool. Sheep also drop 1 wool upon death, if they are not sheared. The wool dropped is the same color as the sheep, unless the sheep is named jeb_, in which case the sheep drops whatever color the sheep truly is instead of rainbow wool. The drop rates are not affected by the Fortune or Looting enchantments. Baby sheep cannot be sheared.
White, light gray, gray, black, brown, and (rarely) pink sheep can spawn naturally, each yielding their respective wool color when sheared or killed. Getting a sheep of a different color requires dyeing the sheep.

Trading
Any color Wool
Villager gifts
Java, a shepherd villager may throw a block of wool of random color at a player under the Hero of the Village effect.
Usage
Wool comes in sixteen colors, which are white, orange, magenta, light blue, yellow, lime, pink, gray, light gray, cyan, purple, blue, brown, green, red, and black. Unlike stained glass and terracotta, the white variant serves as the undyed block. Wool of any color can be re-dyed into any other color.
Wool is easily mined, highly flammable, and offers little resistance against explosions.
Trading
Trade uses
Vibration occlusion
Wool can be used to block vibrations from reaching nearby sculk sensors. If a wool block is placed between a sensor and a vibration source, the sensor is not able to detect vibrations behind it. Similarly, if a wool block is placed between a sensor and a sculk shrieker, the sensor is unable to alert the shrieker.
Sculk sensors are not able to detect the placing and breaking of wool, as well as entities walking, sprinting, or jumping on top of it. They are also unable to detect items dropped on wool, or wool itself dropped in item form.
Similar to sculk sensors, wardens are also unable to detect everything wool-related as listed above.
Wool can also be used to block note block sounds from reaching allays.
Note blocks
Wool blocks can be placed under note blocks to produce "guitar" sounds.
Crafting ingredient
Any color of wool or wood can be used for paintings but it has no effect on the product's final appearance.

Fuel
Java, wool can be used as fuel in furnaces and their variants, smelting 0.5 items per wool block.

* Name "Copper Spleaves" is a reference to the Minecraft minigame spleef. Spleef is a competitive minigame played within Minecraft. When playing spleef, players destroy blocks below other players, allowing them to fall off the playing field and into a pit. The object of the game is to be the last player on the field. Because of this, the name of the Copper Spleaves is a combination of the words "Spleef" and "Leaves".
* The exact y level the player needs to be in to not break the copper spleaves is just less than 1 above the block.
* Copper spleaves have only a weathered texture, despite being a copper block.
* In 1.21 a similar block named "copper grates" has been added, having a similar appearance to copper spleaves.

Dirt paths are decorative blocks. They are mainly found in villages as a path for the villagers.
Obtaining
Breaking
A shovel is the most efficient tool for mining dirt paths. A dirt path has the highest hardness value of all blocks mineable with a shovel.
Bedrock, a dirt path block can be directly obtained with a Silk Touch tool.
Java, dirt paths always drop dirt when broken. Dirt path blocks can be obtained only via the Creative inventory, commands, or pick block. They can still be created from placed dirt, however, by using a shovel on dirt, as described in below.

Natural generation
Dirt paths are naturally generated in villages when pathways replace grass blocks.
Their purpose is aesthetics, and additionally Bedrock, pathfinding for villagers. Most dirt paths connect to village structures and houses.
Dirt paths also generate as part of some village structures.
Although they can't be placed that way by the player, village generation can cause them to appear under other blocks.
Post-generation
Dirt paths can be created by using any type of shovel on the side or top of dirt, grass block, coarse dirt, mycelium, podzol, or rooted dirt that has air above it. The shovel then loses one durability.
Usage
Dirt paths are primarily used for decoration, although they also prevent hostile mobs from spawning. They are a similar color to grass blocks placed in a desert or savanna biome. They are only 15 of a block high, therefore items that require a full block like torches and buttons cannot be placed on them. Villagers and iron golems prefer to use dirt paths the most when routing compared to any other block.be
A dirt path block converts to dirt instantly if a block with a solid material is placed on top of it.
Using a hoe on dirt path converts it to farmland. Since dirt paths can be created with any variant of dirt, it can be used as an intermediate step to convert podzol and mycelium, which cannot be tilled directly, into farmland.

The funky portal is a joke block introduced in Java Edition 20w14∞ that allows entry into randomly generated dimensions. It is a colored variant of the nether portal block with the color being determined by the destination dimension.
Obtaining
The funky portal block cannot be obtained as an item even by using the give command. The funky portal block can be placed using commands such as fill or setblock and is generated when throwing a written book into a nether portal. After throwing the book into the portal, the book is destroyed. It does not go through the portal after having changed it. The generated portal has a random destination, unless the text leads to an Easter Egg dimension. Rarely, when throwing the book into the portal, the nether portal turns into multiple funky portal colors. Each book generates its own dimension, and books with the same page content generate the same dimension. Using /setblock ~ ~ ~ neither_portal sets the block and give it randomized block data as to its destination dimension. The color of a funky portal is determined by its destination dimension. The color of any portal can be found by converting its dimension ID into hexadecimal. The last six digits of that number is the RGB color.
Breaking
Funky portal blocks cannot be broken by tools except in creative mode, but can be destroyed by breaking the portal frame, by explosions, or by placing a liquid inside the portal.
Usage
Running /data get block on funky portal blocks returns the data that includes the name of the dimension.

Nether sprouts are a non-solid fungi block that generate in warped forests. Unlike other warped forest plants, it does not have a crimson equivalent.
Obtaining
Breaking
Nether sprouts can be mined instantly with any item. The block also breaks if the block below is removed, or if water flows into its space. The block drops only if broken with shears.

Natural generation
Nether sprouts generate in warped forest biomes.
block distribution
Post-generation
Applying bone meal to warped nylium creates nether sprouts on that block and surrounding nylium, along with crimson roots, warped roots, and fungi.
Usage
Nether sprouts can be planted on the same blocks that fungi, crimson roots, and warped roots; can be placed on: nylium, soul soil, grass, podzol, mycelium, moss, dirt, coarse dirt, rooted dirt, and farmland. However, they cannot be planted in flower pots.
Composting
Placing nether sprouts into a composter has a 50% chance of raising the compost level by 1.
